A: Yes. This is my full time job, I film and edit all week and at weekends. I also carry public liability, and personal indemnity insurance, some venues may require me to produce these documents. I am also a Master member of the “Institute of Videography” a professional body whose quality of work and work ethics I have to adhere to.
A: A professional photographer will always produce fantastic stills of your day. But stills alone cannot bring you back to relive your day like a video can. Your vows, your speeches, the atmosphere of the day, the groom seeing his bride getting ready, the bride seeing her guests arrive. Your big day will go so fast and the first thing couples want after their honeymoon is to watch their wedding DVD.
A: I use professional wireless lapel microphones which the Groom and or Vicar will wear. I also place microphones in areas of importance like on the lectern for your readings and in areas where you may have a soloist or a musician performing.
A: Yes I always try to attend your wedding rehearsal; it lets me have an informal chat with the vicar which enables me to discuss the best places to stand. I can also see where I can place microphones and work out my camera angles.
A: I film, and edit in High Definition and then supply the final production on a bespoke Blu-ray menu and chapter driven disk.
A: Your first disk will be sent out on Blu-ray in High Definition, this is because I film, edit and create your film in HD first. When you are happy with your proof, I can then make standard definition disks if equired. I always say to my new clients that it’s a good idea to get a Blu-ray player on your wedding list if you don’t already own one.
A: It can take up to 8 weeks during busy periods, this is because of the effort I give to the edit process, and I only try and edit one wedding at a time. This enables me to give your edit my undivided attention.
A: Absolutely, I require your music ideas to edit the you’re chapters. I edit by listening to the tempo of your chosen tracks, and I usually require a mix of slow and fast pasted tracks. Your choices and can be from anywhere pop music, classical or the movies.
A: Yes for me to use any music on your wedding film I will need to purchase PPL & MCPS rights licences which will allow me to dub and record music onto your film, don’t worry the cost of these licences are included in the package price. The church may also charge for a videographer, if the fee is for a licences then you could argue this.
A: Yes. I will include an order form with your final proof disk, just in case friends and family members would like to order copies. I am happy to deal with orders directly as not to cause any inconvenience to yourself.
A: We never set up any shots unless specifically requested to do so by you. We believe in filming your day as it unfolds, in a very natural style, enabling you to remember exactly what happened. Setting up shots is very unnatural and does not enable anyone being filmed to relax and just be themselves. In our experience, we always find the best footage is obtained when we can film completely unnoticed.
A: Make a coffee and give me a call, this is a new section to help answer some of your questions I will be adding new Q & A`s all the time.
